well title says it all, FX-6100 or Phenom II X6 1100T? which one would be better for playing something like bf3? and if there is any better stuff that's below the $200 price range then let me know.

Get the 1100T (or 1090T and overclock that).
The FX-6100 doesn't come close to the Thubans- overclocked or not.
Check out this for benchmark scores comparing the 1090T/FX-6100 at stock settings and overclocked to 4.2Ghz:

I have the 1090T(Which I have overclocked) and am loving it.
Hope that helps.

EDIT: Plus, the motherboard you have in your sig supports the 1100T.
My 1090T is in a 780G chipset mobo.

Thanks, i was looking for a comparison but i could not find one and that was also another thing i was debating in my head if it was worth a new mother board. I guess ill be go with the 1100T then :D less money for me to spend and it appears to be better then the fx-6100.

Yeah. The 1100T should work fine in your current motherboard. I have my 1090T in my old Gigabyte 780G chipset mobo, and yours is a 785G chipset motherboard.

For the more n00bish of us, how much of a difference is this ?

I have an FX6100 clocked to 4.0hmz I have a 550 ti / oc card and 12mb Ram.

Played BF3 ok, but the CPU is working 100% when playing and works hard, I know this is standard with BF3 (multilplayer) but if its worth putting my FX6100 on eBay and getting a 1100T then I'll do it, the question is how much of a difference will it make enough to justify selling it ?

Thanks in advanced!

Here is the way that i see it, like that matters. I built my first computer with little knowledge of the 1090T. I got lucky because it received rave reviews. Looking back now, the 1100T and 1090T are at the end of a long list of processors that were tested and tested over and over. I got the end result, and I am very happy with, in fact I have two 1090T. I can play all the games, and enjoy overclocking my rig. They just came out with the 6200, and it seems to be getting better. I am looking forward to seeing its progress. But for right now, and for the price I would go for the 1100 or 1090t. GOOD LUCK!

Hey, thanks for the reply!

I already have the 6100 installed and over-clocked, so price really shouldn't be a factor.

I'm just wanting to know how much of a difference there will be in terms of performance and if I'm better of swapping to one because its a huge difference or If I just wait it out and upgrade later once this has had its time.

Hmmm, its a tough one, because from what I'm reading there's not allot in it ?

I'm really quite stuck and confused with this because I could also upgrade to an FX8120 for roughly the same coast as the FX6100 was ? Its that worth doing, does it hold more of a respectable reputation than the 6100 ?
