And what about ebay? I posted some cheap true spirit and hr-02 macho links...was 70 shipped or so.

I tend not to buy things oversea, firstly shipment will be very costly easily up to RM 30 - 50 since USD shipment it's 10$ it's little in USD but not in my currency.
Secondly , things tends to get lost , unless I get insurance etc which will cost lot more.
My brother uses Amazon to buy things , many times his stuff always got lost.

I think of coolers as long term investments. I'm still using my Ultra-120A (4 pipes) I got in 2007. But RM 95.00 plus post is a lot of money. If it was only RM 40-50.00 I would say do it... but RM 100.00....

Im glad you understand, but yeah if it's only RM 40 - 50 more I definitely invest on it.
But still RM 50 can pay for my meal for least 2 - 4 days long !

The stock fan is on the weak side (but very easy to upgrade) and case ventilation counts a lot. It easily keeps my 3930k in the low 60s at full load.

What fan did you used on your Hyper212.
But the one Im getting will be Hyper212X , not EVO / Plus.
It's the latest version. I wonder is the fan any better. I heard it is.
But I do plan on swapping them out for Blademaster / Xtraflo.
If only they were fan clips instead. I might able to squeeze in my NH-A14 FLX

Another way is stick with the stock fan for the moment , save up some money and invest on pair of Noctua fans :attn: My budget gets higher and higher every moment lol :screwy:

I know the 212+ had a slightly higher rpm fan than the 212 evo. Not sure about the 212x though.

Edit: also the 212+does use clips to hold the fan so you may be able to use your noctura after all.

I used a Foxconn fan out of an old Dell server, similar specs to a HHE Delta. It's a variable speed sensorless sine wave drive just like the Deltas and newer Nidecs. The case fan is a high end Delta, but that cools a lot more than the CPU.

The stock fan would probably work just fine for a quad core unless you're going to overclock heavily. Try that first. If the temps are higher than you like, try removing the side panel. If they go way down, time for better case ventilation. If there's little change, upgrade the fan on the heatsink. Also verify that your BIOS fan settings are sane.

But Im getting the 212X , it uses their plastic bracket types.
I wonder , does most of the clips fit even they aren't same brand ?
I think I can get buy clips separately.

Wouldn't want you going hungry for a more expensive cooler. :D
Clips are made for specific coolers, but on occasion some work on other coolers.
Pull-ties can usually be used if you don't have clips.

I was such an idiot. Since I bought a 2nd Fan , I be needing a Y-Splitter for both my PWM fans connecting to the CPU Fan Header.
I freaking went through every shop at the mall there I bought from looking for it.
Gave up after every shop told me they don't sell them.
And only found out the NF-F12 PWM Fan came with one....zzzzz
Seriously no doubt Noctua is one of the best company I bought from lol.
But can you actually buy PWM Y-Splitter cable separately ??

Yes you can. Most even have PSU power connector.

Swiftech have a 8-way PWM hub too

Damn , I wish someone actually imports some Gelid products here , I seen some great and awesome looking coolers from them.

We have Swiftech , but not all their stuffs and it's only recent.
We have their H220 AIO Cooler and most of the water cooling parts.
Their PWM Fans too.

I remember Gelid make RAM too right ??

Sorry, I though I included link to Gelid

Try Googleing "PWM splitter".

Be careful about using Akasa braided PWM splitter. They have 5x wires heatshinked but not stress relieved at pin going into connector. After a short time the wires stress fatigue between heatshrink and connector.. so when you get into case and bump them, close it back up and a fan will either not run at all or run full speed. :(

Are Akasa products good ? I seen some people use their fans though , but nothing else.
We do have some Akasa products here.

I love their VIPER fan though
Somehow I think still many of the best brands are still founded in USA / Europe
Even though most of the PC tech / brands are from Taiwan.
By fact CPU and GPU are still from USA , except that the GPU Heatsink and PCB just remade by Taiwan brand
But surprisingly HongKong itself have one of the best GPU brand , damn shocked to found out about this lol....

Hey guys ! It's Sunday ( FINALLY ! ) So finally Im able to spend sometime upgrading my Wife , Uh i meant my PC :D

So here's my opinion, firstly I seriously have no regret spending that extra few RM 100 buying this cooler from Noctua and another extra RM 65 on the second fan.
Totally worth it , this cooler is just amazing...originally my previous AIO Water Cooler from Enermax @ Idle it's 30 - 33 C , Fans @ 1300 RPM X2
This Noctua is able to do 28 - 30 C easily , Fans @ 1000 RPM X2

Secondly , during in game load like Sleeping Dogs. I was able to easily shaved off 5 - 8 C originally from my Enermax cooler. And best of all the fan was still at total silent

The fan it's so quiet that even during at first time boot up , it gave me a scare , since I couldn't hear the fan as usual from my Enermax ones I thought my PC wasn't booting up or the fan ain't running. But it is

I even try maxing the fan out at full 1400 RPM , both fans. Yet I couldn't even hear the fan at all , this is just damn scary

Bottom line , I easily give this cooler a 11 out of 10 Stars Rating and Noctua is seriously a top notch brand to go for.

Big coolers probably could break MOBO's I have a true copper in here that weighs probably 6 lbs he he.

I made a guy wire system to support the thing from the top of the case, but those are rare anyways I guess I think they only made 100.

Something like that.

If I was starting over from scratch and you've the room I'd try one of these out.

*edit* duh I've been away too long, have to remember to read the whole thread before just throwing things out there he he.
