i5-8600k will not set core ratio above 43

Hi, pretty new to oc'ing. Sorry if this is just a noob mistake. I recently upgraded some components in my rig. Bought an asus tuf h310 plus, an i5-8600k, and 16gb of geil forza 2666, and a rosewill closed loop water cooler. When trying to oc in the bios I can not set the core ratio above 43, I can type in 50 but as soon as i hit enter it changes to 43. I also tried using the intel extreme tuning program but it also will not let me set it to above 4.3 ghz. I appreciate any help in advance.

I'm going to guess it's a chipset limitation.

it's an unlocked i5-8600k. There's tons of videos of people getting well over 5.0 ghz?

No. Not on the H310 chipset. Your motherboard won't OC the chip, according to everything I found.

Yep... H series chipset on the motherboard cannot overclock. Buy a Z370 board.
