Hi all
Got a problem. I have a file server built from a retail core2 duo motherboard and several hard drives, and want to add more drives, but am running out of room in the current full tower case, and want to be able to install/ remove a hard drive without taking lots of disassembly, so I ordered this server case for it with 16 drive bays

It looks like the hard drives plug in to a special board with a SAS connector on it. I was not expecting this, I thought I could use regular SATA cables to go from the motherboard to the hard drive bays.
I spotted a cable that goes from four SATA ports to a SAS port, called a fan-out cable. I'm hoping to plug the four SATA ports in to the motherboard and then plug the SAS port in to the board that the hard drive bays plug in to, does anyone know if this will work? I do not know much about SAS
This is the cable. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816115064
thanks
