I've seen those tubes. The thing that put me off about them was the incredibly ugly (to my eyes) fittings that you see sold for them. Though I realize now that bitspower crystal link would work the same for acrylic as it does for copper and crystal link. Definitely an option. Though will the extreme small amount of space to work with I'm leaning back towards tubing, but tubing of a smaller diameter. Still in the planning phases with this build, more updates when I get some more parts.
I'm thinking I'd either go tubing or copper just so I can use nice looking fittings. Though the acrylic seems like it would be so nice to work with, you could test the tube routing while still flexible.

I just stumbled across this Dimastech Nano bench that is tempting me to change my entire approach. Will have to think on it. The whole idea of this build was to have something with a small footprint in my desk and a massive radiator or the floor. The sg10 is reminding me why I went with a test bench setup on my previous build.

EDIT: Ok well the dimastech is ordered. Also have the cpu, mosfet, ram blocks ordered. Just got a bunch of 3/8x1/2 inch compression fittings from dazmode. I'll be putting up some pictures soonish. Still having trouble deciding on what radiator I should get. I'm leaning towards the mo-ra3 420 which has mounts for 9 140mm fans on either side. I would like to mount 4 200mm fans only. That got me to thinking, why not just buy the mO-RA3 4x180mm radiator. It's quite a bit cheaper but I'm afraid I'll have to run my fans too fast that they'll be loud. Still undecided on the radiator.

Bigger fans don't push as much pressure as the 120 fan would at low rpm. If you want a silent operation I would get 9 120mm fans (AP-15s for example) on the radiator and keep them at a low-mid setting otherwise the 200mm won't do as well.

Pretty much decided on the the 140x9 setup. I want the fans either off or just 3 running while idling and at max load I'd like 9 fans at 500rpm max. So I think it's probably best to get the larger surface area.
Anyone have any 140mm fan recommendations. I've been looking at the noctua nfa14 the noiseblocker blacksilent pro pk1 and theswiftech helix.

I forgot how Expensive watercooling is.
Also you might have noticed I decided at some point to pour all my cash into this rather than build my storage server. Luckily it seems like the storage server is going to be considerably less expensive than this project.

Need to input on tubing. I've got the tygon norprene for the bench to the rad sorted, but the primoflex bloodshed red just isn't working in my head. Too opaque.
I want to achieve this kind of look

Not this:

Now the first picture there is colored fluid, which I'd like to avoid. Anyone have any suggestions for a good clear deep red tubing without plasticizer issues.

I could order clear Primochill Advanced LRT and use some rit dye on it like this

I got my sidewinder order in today as well. The res is the reason I'm rethinking tubing colors. Heres a picture of it where I had originally thought I would mount it. But now I'm leaning towards mounting it inside of the lower portion of the bench.

Also does anyone know how to change the name of the Thread? It's no longer an SG10 build..

You're rig looks fine. People who use color fluid pretty much do it for looks/shows than performance. We pick performance first and than looks.

Quality dyes have a low incidence of issues. Mayhems dyes are well regarded in that sense.

Yeah I like the look of dyes but I dont think I'm going to go that way. I think I'll see how the Bloodshed red tubing looks when it comes in (I doubt I'm going to like it though) and decide if i'm going to order some clear primichill/tygon/duralene and do the rit dye until it matches the reservoir.

I am a bit confused. Is that picture above not your rig and someone else's with Primo Advanced LRT Bloodshed red tubing? I've heard the red looks better in person than on camera.

No that is a random picture from the internet show casing exactly how I do not want my tubing to look. My rig is currently in a sg10 and soon to be going onto a dimastech bench!

Yeah, the red should look better in person. I've read that on the forums before. Add a red LED for the already red reservrior if you want more red. I am sure the tubing will bling more red. I am guessing you want to balance the tubing and reservior to be flushed one color. I don't think it will be perfect but good enough without going full dye.

Well using dye's in my coolant is going to be a last resort. I'm actually looking forward to getting some cheap duralene tubing and dyeing the outside of the tube, not many people home dye their own tube it seems.

I guess you beat me to doing a BENCH build, will start mine soon maybe next week just waiting for the parts to arrive. Fedex will be here Thursday to Saturday with my order, so good luck on the build. Looks like its coming along nicely SeeThruHead. AJ. :)

Ha I dunno about beat you. I'm still waiting for my massive frozencpu order. Just placed another sidewinder order today for 30 ft of Duralene to try dyeing different colors. Not to mention I still need to get the rest of the fittings (won't be buying them until I have the blocks installed on the bench.) Also still need to get fans and fan control ordered. Then I need to take a few days to sleeve the PSU and all the cables. Painting the motherboard and GPU's should consume another day or two. Long long process to go but I feel like I'm gaining momentum now that parts are starting to arrive.

I think this comes to mind after reading your last post!!! "KISS" Wow what are you doing there Buddy, sounds like recreating the wheel lol!! Still by the time you have completed no doubt it will be something Special. AJ.

THE Haul

Lots of stuff arrived today, as well as some stuff picked up from NCIX.ca retail location.

Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. The tubing has an orange tint to it that's hard to see in my horrible cell phone photos. It doesn't look as bad as I expected but I order the duralene and RIT dye anyway so I'll see how they compare once I've dyed some tubes.

Sorry about the terrible photos, my phone is horrible and so is the light. I will be using my girlfriends camera and probably building a cardboard whitebox/softbox to retake photos of the parts later on, probably when I do a teardown and rebuild which won't be long since I'm itching to switch to acrylic tubing in the next couple months.

Edit: I was hoping if a mod sees this that they could change the thread title to "STH's Watercooled Nano Bench Log." Would appreciate it.

Result of the Ram block painting, looks pretty good I think, still some copper showing through hopefully I can get it looking better with a fine marker.

I also cut a massive hole in the beautiful base panel of my dimastech. Why would I do such a thing. I mounted two screws apparently for no reason, dont worry there's two more coming once I paint the washers and nuts. Maybe someone can guess why.
