AMD has released the initial Barcelona tech documents, the most relevant of which for most people is the Revision Guide for AMD Family 10h Processors.
This will tell you about steppings, and the initial release indicates two initial steppings, a BA and a B2 stepping.
Another often useful guide with a lot of technical nuggets is the BIOS and Kernel

One Barcelona tech document that is NOT out yet is the processor power and thermal specification guide. This would likely explain a lot about AMD’s struggles with speed, which is probably why it isn’t out yet. 🙂
