anybody know any cool free games out there?

I'm kinda bored, but don't wanna spend any cash, so i was wondering if anyone could reccomend any cool free/open source games out there. I'm pretty much open to anything, strategy, fps, roleplaying, sports, or anything else. So anyone have any suggestions?

If you download Steam, I think you can play CS for free, along with Half-Life's singleplayer.

Also, the-underdogs.org has a gigantic library of games that aren't being published anymore. Most of the games are very old... going back to the 1980's, with some as recent as the last couple years. One of the newer additions to the collection, however, is System Shock 2.
