Hi there, I'm having issues when multiple users are using the same wireless connection, It first started happening a few months ago, I don't think any changes were made.

The internet will work perfectly if there is only 1 computer connected to the internet, it may disconnect every few hours or it may not disconnect at all (It doesn't disconnect, sorry, it gets limited connectivity, so thats an issue with the router, right?)

The issue then re-appears when another user(s) come onto the wireless connection, the internet connection will constantly drop out every 2-5 minutes, and it gets incredibly annoying, the down time ranges from 5-30 seconds.

All computers running W7 and seemingly virus free.

Thanks :)

Could be a faulty modem, the extra traffic is pushing it over the edge. Is the dsl/cable/fios modem hot to the touch? It shouldn't be. Warm is fine, but if you can barely hold your hand to it, that's bad.

The way to eliminate overheating as the problem is to unplug the router/modem until it cools (20-30 minutes), then power it on and immediately test. If everything is okay for 5+ minutes but then suddenly starts acting up, it's likely heat. otherwise your troubleshooting (swapping out routers) has pretty much eliminated the router being the culprit.
