KT7Raid PCI slot suggestions?

I have a D-Link NIC and Sound Balster Live Value card that I need to add to my system. Any suggestions on which of the six PCI slots these should go in? I initially had the NIC in slot 6 and the sound card in 3 but Windows Me consistently locked up on boot. I scrapped Me and am back to 98SE.
The only thing I have installed now is a Visiontek GeForce 2 MX and my system has been running solid for about 4 days now.

There is a great faq on the KT7-Raid located at www.apushardware.com/faqs/kt7faq/kt7faq.htm Looks like there is plenty of complaints on the sounblaster live. I got lucky and min works just fine. Cheers
