Hello, I've got a 9500 Pro here with a Gigabyte 7VAXP motherboard. When flashing my bios on the graphics card, it says "0" is an unrecognized adapter.

Does this mean my computer isnt recognizing that I have the video device? It works fine, I'm using it now... but I cannot flash the bios.

Is there any way to fix it?

which program did you use to flash the card with

edit: I like flashrom over atiflash. If you try atiflash and it didn't work give flashrom a try

also sorry for the late response Ive been busy.

.

Hey guys,

I have a sapphire 9500np with the "straight" (non L shaped memory). I already downloaded the sapphire np bios, but I have also read that you need the l shaped memory for this mod to work... You guys think I can flash my card to a 9700?

Herer is my current bechmark and had to lower the settigns a little bit to 398/348

Last sunday I bought a 9700NP with 3.6 NS hynix memories, 275/270 clocks and started playing with it, it ran flawlessly at 330/310 which surprised me at first, but anything higher than that and it would crap out, so I went out and flashed it with Mufu's bios, now im able to run at 350/340 getting artifacts only on troll's lair on 3dmark03 ( 350/350 gets me mad polygon breaks ) tho 350/330 seems to be the sweet spot, with good performance and NO artifacting

Great write up. Since I have everything else clocked thought I would give the Saphire 9700np a try.

Running now at 351/320 (3.3 inf mem sucks) on the 9700pro bios. Core has more in it but with the memory is out of gas I don't think it will give me much.

Thanks for a great thead Super Nintendo and to all of the contributors in general.

This was as painless as I think any O/C I have done

Thanks all :D

320mhz is an excellent overclock for infineon 3.3, what you complaining about, most 9700np cards in NZ appear to have this memory. I was lucky enough to get 3.6hynix on my first 9700np retail card, but the card went bad within 2 months, it was unmodded too, they send me a 9700np infineon oem as a replacement :(
Took abit of work but I got the infineon windows stable at maximum 420/702 using some extreme voltage mods and air cooling. Even got to see it run 720 for about 3 mintues then the screen freaked out.

Hey I am new to all this and was wondering if anyone can help.

I was a little squeamish about flashing my 9500pro bois, as I have never done anything like that before. I was told that I could just use the omega drivers to unlock my clock w/o flashing the bios. So I tried that and it appears to have worked.

Card is now at 369/315. No artifacts, problems or anything.

At stock I was getting about 8100 on 3DMark01 SE and about 2300 on 3DMark03. Afterwards I was getting about 9200 on 3DMark01 and 3100 on 3DMark03.

While this is definitely an increase, the numbers (both at stock and O/C) seem a little low. I run the benches after re-boot, with nothing else running, but dont know if there is anything else I should do before running the bench.

Right now I have XP1800+, Sapphire 9500pro @ 369/315, and 1 stick 512MB ram PC2700

Any help is appreciated.

Please Help !! (super Nintendo?!?)

Hey !
I have a ATI 9500 PRO (BUILT BY ATI). I have no Idea of what make the ram chips in my board are. However they have HY5DU283222 F-36 217A KOR (hyundai???, hynix????) embedded on the surface of the ram chips. The chips are arranged in line (not L shaped). I tried the omegadrivers.com drivers but my card seems to max out at 310/300 (display gets garbled after that).

My questions are:

1. Can I BIOS flash my card with a 9700 PRO BIOS?? Will this result in a 9700 PRO or 9700 (non PRO)?
2. Where can I get the BIOS?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

If the memory chips are in a line, then there is no way to enable the 256bit memory interface. Sorry your stuck with 128bit, but you can however enable the extra 4 pipelines in the core for a total of 8 pipes. Try www.rage3d.com and look in the forums in the overclocker section, do a few seaches and your be in the know.

k, just to get things straight. I have a Sapphire 9700 np with 3.3 Infineon memory chips.

Which bios should I flash with?

And does it matter if the card is PAL or NTSC? And how do I find out which I have? (would think pal since I live in Norway but don't know how to make sure)

I tried flashing the bios of my sapphire radeon 9700 np according to this thread. Problem is, there was an error message during the flashing, and when I tried restarting my comp it was completely dead. I honestly didn't think a graphics card could do that, but anyway. When I tried starting up with an old card it worked, so it's obvisouly the 9700's fault and I recon it's the bios that's bad.

Is there any way to fix it? My computer doesn't start at all with the card in it, so I can't try flashing it back even though I have a backup of the original bios.

Help would be appreciated, don't feel like paying for a new card....

yea there is, borrow or buy an old PCI video card, doesnt matter what it is. plug the card into one of the motherboards PCI slot, connect the monitor RGB cable to it, leave the 9700 AGP card in the machine.
boot to DOS then type out the flash string like you did before, flash orginal bios back.

I modified a 9700pro infineon bios, to 275/270 clocks. I also edited the cards memory timings to lower latency, this had a postive impact on my partictular card, memory was less likley to freak out or checkerboard.

If you need to choose a bios, alot can be found here, if you dont have your orginal, you will most likely find it here:
