What happens when you O/C too high on teh mem?

I know that with the GPU you will get artifacts and stuff, but what happens when you overclock the memory too high? Does it just lock up?

i get the most artifacting when i up the memory speed and more lock ups with overclocking the gpu

That's right. Overclocking the memory will produce more artifacts than overclocking the GPU, for the most part. Although you will mostlikely get them as well when you push your GPU too far. It's more common for the system to lock up when overclocking the GPU.
