Will I be able to use pc2700 ram on this board?

I have a Via p4x266 motherboard
The manual says it can support pc 1600 and pc2100 DDR ram.
Am I able to put pc2700 DDR ram in?
If I do put it in and it wont support it, what will happen to the motherboard?

It should be able to run PC2700.
Its just memory that is rated at a higher speed than the others.
