Classy looking, sturdy laptop cooler wide enough to fit larger DTR notebooks – Joe
SUMMARY: Classy looking, sturdy laptop cooler wide enough to fit larger DTR notebooks.
The good guys at Jetart were nice enough to send sample of their latest notebook cooler, the XCool, model #NP7600W, to check out. This is of very sturdy, large, solid aluminum construction – no plastic in this cooler!
Key Features:
- Solid aluminum construction
- Size 400 x 280 x 52 mm (18.9″ x 11.0″ x 2.0″)
- Weight 1145 grams (2.5 pounds)
- Built-in 4-port USB 2.0 Hub with cable
- Dual fans, speed 2300 rpm
- External power supply
The cooler ships with a USB cable, external power adapter, and four small rubber feet to fix to your laptop’s base should it need them:
The back shows the On/Off switch, power adapter port, USB connector and four USB ports:
The bottom view shows the two cooling fans:
What I like about this unit is it’s size – if you have a DTR, most of the laptop coolers I have seen disappear under the laptop – this one does not. With the Asus Z71A, I have about an inch extra on each side – handy on which to put little items such as pen drives, etc.
The fans are low noise but noticeable – the one thing I did not see on this unit was a speed controller, a curious lack for such a top-end product. Sometimes you might want to dial the fans down but not possible with this one.
The four USB ports depend upon the power from the laptop’s USB plug, so don’t expect to connect four power hungy USB devices to these ports.
Overall a very classy looking laptop cooler wide enough to fit larger DTR notebooks with ease.
