AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT Review: Ultimate 1080p Gaming

AMD made a few exciting announcements in Las Vegas at CES 2020 this year. Among them was the announcement of a new mid-range GPU, the RX 5600 XT, which AMD touts as being the ultimate 1080p gaming card. This wasn’t too much of a surprise since leaks and rumors told us it was coming and what to expect. We just needed to test one and judge the performance for ourselves.

Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4 3600 Review

Today we have the opportunity to test something a little different in the modern DDR4 memory market. For high-end computer builders and enthusaiasts, Samsung B-Die has remained the undisputed champion in recent years. Although other options have always been available, when it comes to overclocking and performance, there is simply no competition. Today, we are testing the Crucial Ballistix Elite, which is running a new breed of Micron memory IC’s. MSI GTX 1660 Super Gaming Review

Today Nvidia is unveiling additional “Super” cards extending the Super line into their GTX models. Available today is the GTX 1660 Super and the GTX 1650 Super will be launching on November 22nd. These new cards also introduce a new price point which is lower than their predecessors and we expect some price adjustments on those models as well.

G.SKILL Trident Z Neo For AMD X570

AMD’s new X570 platform introduces enhanced memory speed capabilities. The integrated memory controller in previous generations of Ryzen CPU’s severely limited the frequency and range of timings. To take advantage of the all new memory capabilities, G.Skill introduced the Trident Z Neo. The Neo’s built-in XMP memory profile is optimized to work with AMD Ryzen 3 series CPU’s and X570 motherboards. GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING OC 8G Review

On our test bench today we have the RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC from GIGABYTE. The “Super” line of GPUs was introduced by Nvidia in late June of this year which, coincidently coincided with AMD’s launch of their new Navi-based RX 5700 line of video cards. Speculation at the time was that this move was intended to counter AMD’s perceived price/performance staging of their soon to be launched RX GPUs. AMD’s performance levels were mostly speculation at the time but rumored to be at or near the RTX 2070 levels with a similar price point. Whether or not these rumors were true the RTX Super graphics cards were released intending to slide in between their base model (RTX 2070) and the next tier (RTX 2080). These cards were sporting an increased CUDA core count much like the “Ti” versions of the past but these new Super cards also have increased RT and Tensor core counts.

EVGA Z390 DARK Motherboard Review

Today, we’re looking at EVGA’s extreme overclocking Z390 motherboard the EVGA Z390 DARK. As in the past, the DARK series is EVGA’s top-of-the-line serious overclocking oriented motherboard which has all the bells and whistles you need for going sub-ambient. It’s not a flashy board, you won’t find any RGB LEDs on this monster, it’s real estate is dedicated to extreme overclocking hardware.

MSI MEG Z390 ACE Motherboard Review

Up today is another Z390 Motherboard from MSI, the MEG Z390 ACE. MSI has updated their naming scheme recently introducing the MEG, MPG, and MAG series of motherboards. All three are Gaming centric with the “MEG” sitting at the top of the stack as the Extreme Gaming series followed by the Performance and Mainstream boards.

MSI GTX 1660 Gaming X Review

Today we have the second iteration of Nvidia’s pared down Turing Die the GTX 1660, this one is the Gaming X from MSI. After the initial Turing launch and pricing many felt it was a steep price to pay for the new architecture, Nvidia answered with their GTX line of Turing based GPUs. They don’t have the Tensor cores or Ray Tracing but do include many of the new Turing features which were covered in our GTX 1660 Ti review.
