The good guys at SansDigital were nice enough to send a sample of their 5-Bay IDE / SATA Hard Drive Organizing Rack to try out.

After sliding in the drive, it’s held in place by snapping a plug against the drive:

In use, there is no way the drive is loose – it’s as secure as if it were bolted in place.

CONCLUSIONS

If you have a bunch of drives and routinely switch among them, this drive cage may fill the bill – a neat way to organize and power a bunch of hard drives.
