Releasing high-end Intel boards is big news for Sapphire as they are an established AMD partner. With this product release, they are looking to expand their market reach at the high end of their product line, and they are doing it with what looks to shape up as two solid entries with high quality power delivery, solid capacitors and “Diamond Black” chokes, and good onboard power delivery cooling reminiscent of their high end graphics solutions. First they have the Pure Black X58 motherboard for the ultimate performance crowd, and they compliment that with their Pure Black P67 for the Sandy Bridge platform. Embargo lifted today on these products, and more details are shared in a current Sapphire press release.
We’ll be looking forward to a hands on review once samples are sent out, but for now I grabbed these photos while I visited their Suite at CES 2011. Checkout the pics for a preview of what is to come! Both boards are in production currently, and pricing will be confirmed soon.
Thanks to Bill Donnelly of Sapphire for taking the time with me to hang out a bit and discuss the surprising new stuff Sapphire is up to!
