The weekend waffle is our new Friday feature where we re-cap on those articles that have proved popular, as well as sharing some community news from the Overclockers Forums and distilling some of the best news and reviews from across the internet.

Top Articles
In case you missed them the first time round, the top three articles this week are linked below.
  • Our i3/i5/i7 Overclocking Guide by MIAHALLEN proves ever popular. The full article can be found here.
  • Our review of the Asus P7F7E WS SuperComputer motherboard by splat was published earlier this week.
  • The news that Lian-Li are releasing some new cases has obviously proved popular, as has our news article on this.

On the Forums
Firstly, a big blue congratulations to Hardass and Earthdog, who have both recently been promoted to Senior Member, for their contributions to the site, the forums and the benchmarking team. Earthdog has written a number of excellent articles on overclocking while Hardass is one of our longest standing members and a benchmarking expert.

It's not quite overclocking, but "The Big One" has shared some rather fascinating images of a machine that belongs to one of his customers. Said customer has managed to put a Socket 478 heatsink on a Socket 775 board! See here for all the (gruesome) pictures and to see how it was done.

From the Internet
Grnfinger has posted a link to Futurelooks that has some pictures of Gigabytes new range of motherboards. Their P67A-based range will be appearing on a rather sexy black PCB. Hopefully we'll be able to get our hands on some review samples and let you know how they overclock.

JonnyGuru have posted up another one of their famous PSU tests - this time they are looking at a 400 W fanless Seasonic model.

Bit-Tech.net has posted quite a detailed video card overclocking guide. It's worth a look for those of you (surely all of us!?) looking to squeeze some extra frames per second from your graphics card.

Lamptron have released some pretty cool hose clamps: details and some pictures can be found in this forum thread.

VR-Zone report that unlocked K-series Intel Sandy Bridge chips have successfully been overclocked to 4.9 GHz on air. Sandy Bridge is the code name for the new range of CPUs from Intel and while they are set to be limited in their ability to overclock via FSB changes, these unlocked chips look promising. Current i7 chips tend to reach 3.5 to 4.0 GHz on air, so getting close to 5 GHz is a welcome development.

Finally, ATi have released the new series of Catalyst drivers. We're at version 10.9 now. See this forum thread for details.
