just got my new mb, cpu, and ram. lookin sig to see.

1. I want to upgrade the bios of my MB, but I have never done this before. Any suggestions?

2. What tool are u guys using now a days to read temps?

thanks.

1. You can use an USB stick, or an Cd, Download the latest bios for your mobo, put it on the usb stick/cd.
Go In bios (for asus its called) EZ FLASH.
Dunno about Gigabyte but should be the same thing.
2. OCCT, Realtemp, Coretemp. Everest Ultimate

If you use a CD or a usb flash memory stick, I believe you would have to make the media bootable before you can flash the bios. That is, unless the bios flash tool allows you to circumvent that in some way.

The alternative is to download the Gigabyte Windows-based flash utility along with the new bios file, close all your open programs, and flash it from windows. There should be info on the Gigabyte website about how to do it either way.
