Noctua Announces NA-TPG1 Thermal Paste Guard for AMD’s Zen 4

Noctua has just announced its NA-TPG1 thermal paste guard for AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. Most of you know by now that there is quite a bit of concern over AMD’s new heat spreader design for the Ryzen 4 CPUs. The “cut-out” will undoubtedly become thermal paste troughs and make the cleaning of old paste from CPUs far more difficult. Noctua’s solution, the NA-TPG1, is a thin polycarbonate guard that helps to reduce the mess. Availability is expected in December and will be sold individually ($7.90), or bundled with the NT-H1 ($9.90) and NT-H2 ($13.90) AM5 Edition Thermal pastes. Below is Noctua’s press release.

How To Apply Thermal Paste to your AM5 Processor (Noctua NT-H2)

A proper thermal paste application is an important part of getting the best temperatures possible for your cooling solution. Too much or too little can lead to higher than expected readings and reduce the already little headroom there is to overclock these processors. With the imminent release of AMD’s new processor, according to popular Twitter leaker @momomo_us and confirmed on the website, Noctua is ahead of the curve in updating its NT-H2 (and potentially their other TIMs) usage instructions by adding the AMD AM5 processors to the “small” CPU type.

Noctua releases NH-P1 Passive CPU Cooler and A12x25 LS-PWM 120mm Fan

Noctua recently released the NH-P1 passive CPU cooler and NF-A12x25 LS-PWM low-speed 120mm fan. The much anticipated passive cooler is designed to cool modern high-end processors using only natural heat convection or typical case airflow using its six heat pipes and loads of engineering. The NF-A12x25 LS-PWM fan is designed to assist the cooler in a semi-passive configuration. The PWM function allows the fan to stop during lower loads or rotate up to 1200 RPM under high loads. At full speed, it produces only 12.1 dB. The NH-P1 cooler is listed for $109.90 while the A12x25 LS-PWM fan is $29.90 and is currently available through Amazon. Here is the press release for Noctua.
