CES 2016: ADATA Shows Off XPG Dazzle DDR4 and New SSDs

For over 20 years, ADATA has provided the computer industry with the highest-quality memory and storage devices. The Legend 960 is a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD that continues this legacy. The sample ADATA has provided for this review is the 1 TB version, but a 2 TB is also available. Designed for the consummate professional, the Legend is marketed toward content creators, virtual designers, animators, and of course, gamers. Marketing aside, the Legend 960 is a performance-based solution with speed and data integrity at its core.

With 2016 coming to a close, we have seen the continual decline in price per gigabyte for solid state drives over the past several years. Speeds have reached their maximum through the SATA3 6Gbps ports so performance differences between most drives can only be seen in benchmarks. ADATA has had a few SSDs out in the past. Their latest, the ADATA Ultimate SU800, is their first foray into 3D NAND and promises to deliver a higher storage density, efficiency, and reliability. In recent years, ADATA has gained recognition as one of the global leaders of DRAM memory and Flash application products. They recently launched two new fast PCI-Express x4 3.0 NVMe 1.3 drives, which push the performance per price boundary. The FALCON and SWORDFISH come in at just 13 and 12 cents per gigabyte respectively. Despite the remarkably low price, performance is still quite good. They even managed to include a stylish heatsink to help with thermal throttling and add a little bling to your build.
