i got lucky at work, we have a batterie recycling station. someone dropped a APC BR1000G in the bin, picked it up plugged it in and knew it was a batterie issue. talked to the manager is was ok to take it home, took the battery out so it could be recycled. Went to amazon got a APC battery for it, paid $65 for it, battery got here today. Right now its plugged in with no load will do that tomorrow night, so far it looks good. other then some cosmetic wear, it will be under the desk so no biggie. saw the price of a new one, so i feel like i got a great deal.

last deal i got was 2 BG/BE500 units at goodwill for 7.99 each, just needed batteries too.
