You want to set it up in any way so that channel A has the same EXACT amount of memory as channel B.

Example 1: (1.5 gig setup)

-Channel A- -----------------> -Channel B-
Dimm 0 - 256mb -----------------> Dimm 2 - 256mb
Dimm 1 - 512mb -----------------> Dimm 3 - 512mb
Total - 768mb ----------------- Total: 768mb

Example 2: (2 gig setup)

-Channel A- -----------------> -Channel B-
Dimm 0 - 512mb -----------------> Dimm 2 - 512mb
Dimm 1 - 512mb -----------------> Dimm 3 - 512mb
Total - 1024mb ----------------- Total: 1024mb

Example 3: (1.25 gig setup)

-Channel A- -----------------> -Channel B-
Dimm 0 - 512mb -----------------> Dimm 2 - 512mb
Dimm 1 - 128mb -----------------> Dimm 3 - 128mb
Total - 640mb ----------------- Total: 640mb

Basically the first dimm in the first bank should be equal in number to the first dimm in the 2nd bank, whereas the 2nd dimm in each should also be equal. That is why I show the arrows the way I did. So basically, the totals in each bank will be identical. Good enough? :D

Btw, I doubt anyone uses example 3, but it was for argument's sake.
