I'm building an new computer for gaming, photoshop, and video editing. I've made use of combo discounts and MIRs to get the following computer for $1,044 ($1,342 shipped inlcuding windows 7 & 23" monitor):

CPU: Intel Core i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core
MOBO: EVGA P55 SLI 132-LF-E655-KR LGA1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel
HSF: GELID Solutions Tranquillo CC-TranQ-01-A 120mm CPU Cooler -- $40
MEM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 CAS 7 -- $115
Video: Galaxy 70XKH3HS8GUX GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB (Free JC2)
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-775M 775W SLI Certified
CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified
HDD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" -- $70
Case: Antec 902
DVD: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner

Monitor: ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen Full HD 1080P -- $180 AR
Windows 7 Home Professional 64-bit for system builders -- $100

Combos: CPU + MOBO -- $325 AR, Case + DVD -- $115, PSU + Video -- $375 AR

MIRs: MOBO, PSU, Monitor

CPU and GTX 470 will be overclocked. I might want to get a second gtx 470 in the future if the system struggles to play crysis 2 in 1080p (I will take OC off the GTX 470 if I do).

Now for the questions:

EDIT-- I moved all my SSD questions to the SSD forum.
How many times can I upgrade my system with the system builders version of windows 7? What happens if I get a SSD in the future?
Any other HSFs currently a better value than the gelid?
Has anybody heard about upgrading the thermal paste on the GTX 470 and getting lower temps?

I think this is a very good computer for the money, but I'm open to your suggestions about any one of the components or brands!

Thanks in advance for the help!

I can't be of much help with the SSD questions. As far as Windows 7 system builders, You can do clean installs and upgrade hard drives with no issue's in my experience. You may have to call for activation if you change motherboards.
I'm not familiar with the heatsink you are looking at so sorry, No help there.

A few of the members changed out the thermal paste on their Fermi cards, I don't think there was any real significant difference, Here is the link for the topic.
