Hi guys! :)
First time PC builder here so go easy on me!
Ok, so last week I went ahead and built my first PC.
It's pretty high spec:

EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC w/ EVGA ACX Cooler
Asus Z87 Pro mobo
Fractal Design Define R4
i770k with stock cooler (no overclocking just yet)
Kingston 120GB SSD
G-Skill 8GB Ripjaws X DDR3 2133 (2x 4GB)
and the PSU is a Corsair CXM 750.

The build went pretty smoothly, however one thing is bugging me.
There is a ticking noise which I am pretty sure is from the PSU area.
Before anyone mentions anything about load, it even happens when I have the machine shut down.
I don't want to rush in to returning it, so is there anything I can do to try and fix this?

There is no fix you can do. RMA the PSU now.
If unit is powered off and the PSU still makes noise, the problem is in the 5vsb circuit.

So there is no chance it may be related to wiring, or even the electrics in my house messing up the voltage?

Ok, so I am in the process of RMAing my first PSU.
In the meantime, I got a new one.
I decided to upgrade to the AX760.
After installing it, I was very disappointed to still hear the ticking :(
I thought it might have been something else in by build, so I disconnected components one by one, but the ticking remained.
Even after taking the PSU out altogether and just plugging the power cord in, the ticking remains!
Here is a recording of the ticking:

Your boy, Del, on the stripper pole is hilarious, BTW... no idea on that popping/ticking.. yikes...

Haha that was a good night! :D
If anyone has any insight it really would help me sleep at night.
My only idea is that it may be another electrical device interfering with it?

And there is another CX Corsair story.

I'd say time people should steer clear of em but I still seem em posted here a lot lately.

Have seen a few people keep recommending them in threads here and there, but seems to be I'm seeing a lot of probs too.

Yeah I know they are mid level CWT's, but must be really low mid level.

Is it really a cx issue when the higher(est?) quality ax (different oem note) is doing the same thing? ;)

Heh really ? musta missed that one.

*edit* Oh I see, skimmed over the middle one there, something else up it looks.

:bang head
