right im goin to be makin my own blocks soon out of copper, What are the best shapes to make and how thick/thin should i make the tops and bottom of the block, im gonna try a few different methods, :
1 Angle grinder and drilled holes: drill some holes in a pattern and then link them up using the grinder (most fun)
2 milling machine (least fun)

3 : drill lots of holes

if you have access to a milling machine, use it. you'll get a much more consitent base thickness than any other method. how thick that base thickness should be is the point of many debates. I'd say somewhere in the 0.5-2.0 mm range.
