Kingston HyperX DDR3-2000 4GB Memory Kit Review

Kingston is no spring chicken. They’ve been in the memory game since 1987. Their HyperX series of RAM is popular with overclockers, and for good reason. They’re strong and they’re backed by Kingston’s lifetime warranty. For this review, we’re looking at a new mid-level dual-channel 4GB DDR3 kit, their DDR3-2000 with rated timings of 9-10-9-27.

My first experience with G.Skill RAM was as a moderator of the (dearly departed) abit forums. They. Just. Work. We’d recommend them all the time because once you set the BIOS properly, you were done. Mega Shadow – Lapped or Not?

I’ve been asked to test the Prolimatech Mega Shadow heatsink. The purpose of the test is to see if lapping the heatsink will give any performance improvement. Since I already have a Megahalems in one of my secondary rigs, I found the idea interesting. The testing procedure will be simple. For each step, I will do three mounts and run the test app three times, then average the results.
