Milestones Update

Snow on the ground this morning for the first time this year but the furnace still hasn't kicked in. Last week I added 4x80mm fans to the cold air return in the computer room so it's pushing warm air near the ceiling into the return duct system 24/7 at about 140 CFM. Most of the air seems to come out the other return ducts as expected since the furnace is in the basement. May as well use the excess heat for something constructive! :) When the furnace finally kicks in I'll let you all know how it's working out. I really don't expect there to be any issues but I guess you never know. First up this week is:

QuietIce having finally broken the 6,000,000 Barrier!

tricknasty cracked the 5,000,000 Milestone!

Milestones Update

Sunday 7 December: We've come a long way since radar was considered an unreliable source of information and ENIAC was still a scientist's dream. Many things came out of that conflict, not the least of which was a huge influx of talent and money into computers (as we call them today). Many of the first big steps in computers came from the need for complex scientific calculations, not for weather prediction, medicine, or pattern searches but for building and refining weapons of war. But if history has taught us anything it's that things change and, regardless of the necessities of past times, I'm glad my computers are used for peace.

New rigs are cranking out a lot more horsepower than they were even two years ago and we have more than 300 people over 50,000. Therefore, I am moving the Milestones minimum up to 100,000 as of today. I had hoped to wait until the new year but it's getting to be too much. I hope those of you who were within reach aren't too disappointed. First up this week:

Razorface has passed the 10,000,000 Milestone
and is coming up fast on the good Docktor!

Svirfnebli has made the 8,000,000 Milestone
and is just as quickly moving toward 3rd Place.

Tyrinon, not to be out-done too much, has passed the 7,000,000 Milestone!

Michael Pogrebisky has swept past the 2,500,000 Milestone!

BrightMorn has entered the Top 40!

RuthlessRufus has crunched up 1,250,000 Cobblestones!

jason is now part of the 7-Digit Club!

Levi has passed the 750,000 Milestone!

Teque5 has made the Top 100!

Nebulous is past the 400,000 Milestone!

Tristan is now in the Top 125!

Toomnymods has crunched 300,000 Cobblestones!

Ethre and
Jerry Ferns have both made the 150,000 Milestone!

hank123 is a new member of the 6-Digit Club!

Really wish you could have waited until the new year, I am at nearly 42,000 and would have hit it. Oh well, can't please everyone. What's another month and a half? :santa:

One more Milestone this year - I may decide to go ahead and post the 50k breakers from December after all ...

I was hoping t break the 1mill mark before then, currently at 981k, but since I don't have access to my q9550 for the next few weeks and I don't want to shoot my parents power bill through the roof it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

Just passed 250K points for team OC Forums under username 'Shecky' with the sig computer. I only use one core for SETI, the other core crunches Rosetta. I just passed 200K in Rosetta, so I have two milestones to celebrate.:santa:

Went past 50k a while ago, almost 60k now.

SETI site seems down for maintenance at this time but last I checked, i was around 250th place overall in the team, way up from the 400th-ish a few months ago.

EDIT: just found out about the GPU based process, downloaded the new client and it's starting the GPU part as soon as it can download some more data.
