uploaded one sandbox video, 2 good ones to go :D
do you guys know any good programs to make videos smaller ? took like 40 minutes to upload a 80mb video.
Edit: wow lame i uploaded it and then it says unsupported codec lol -_-

I usually go through a process if i wan quality videos... use fraps or w.e get your source, then i use nero to write to disk as dvd video .VOB etc... from there i use handbrake to get it smaller, or you can use windows movie make works pretty good :) tell it the size you can MB and it does the rest.

My Experience with the Crysis SP Demo

Well, "Very High" setting crashed my system! See my sig for the complete specs. It showed me the fire from the plane's exhaust system, but crashed at the exact moment where the interior of the plane and the characters inside were supposed to be shown.

"High" setting gives stultifying playing experience, though the fps is about 20 per eyeballing the FRAPS' fps counter.

"Medium" is a good choice for my system. The play feels smooth, though the fps, per FRAPS, is still low: 30 something.

I take Crysis as a kind of toy. Think about the many different ways to modify the weapons and the suit! lol!

Well, most video games are toys. They take my mind off my work--reading and writing and thinking.

The only video game that is an exception to this--being merely a toy--is BioShock!

It is a work of art. The best game made to date, IMO.

And it will never go out of fashion, just like Shakespeare, Homer, James Joyce--to name a few--will never, either.

I think I am going OT. :D.

Will buy Crysis when it is released.

This engine is beautiful..

I'm very excited as to how my 7900gtx will handle the game. GF7 has been known not to like certain shader heavy games.

With the 169.01 drivers, medium settings (except textures set to high), res 1680 * 1050, and 4xAF I was getting around 23fps average. Choppy on certain areas, but I was able to finish the level nevertheless.

If I went down to 1024 x 768, I would get around 40 frames average.

are you sure 16X AA?? you may have it set but I dont think its on lol, you'd get 2 fps

Go into the game dir and copy the hard cfg into the normal lvl. That should make it more intresting for you. I know its made it harder at least. Still playable but definatly makes you think a little bit more since only a few shots will kill you and your health usually starts eating away before your armor gives out as well too.

Thanks dm:soda:

I might go through it again on hard but the real problem is my GPU, just gonna wait till next week and see what the 8800GS brings, by the time I get something to make the game look nice the full version should be out.

Its time for the hardware upgrade..this is the game I've been waiting for.:)

it is possible if you check some config files there are ones specially for the 8800U's for 16xAA

Check for yourself.. These are saved as low color gif's so quality isn't that great. With aa at 16xQ, frames in game drop about 10 fps, but it is a bit sharper.

There's some rumour going around that the demo only uses one core?

It's possible, but doubtful. I see activity on all four cores. I did check the logs and the engine does recognize all four cores and the speed they're running at.

Here... I have Crysis minimized right now as I type. I'll set it to an affinity of one core in the task manager and see if I see any difference and then I'll report back real quick.

Edit: HUGE difference with only one core. It's sputtering and slamming me with 2-3 second freezes. It's definitely using all of them.

I haven't been able to step away from my PC for a while now. Between the Crysis demo/sandbox, BMW M3 Challenge and it's GTR 2 conversion, Portal, Episode 2.. This has to be one of the best years in gaming I can remember for a long time now. Good times!

Edit: Has anyone tried to do the entire Crysis demo in stealth? It's SO fun. You can lure people over by making noise, like firing at them from behind a bush, turn on your cloak while laying down, and they walk right over to you saying "huh?". Then they go on the radio sometimes reporting that it's a false alarm. That's right when I de-cloak and put one right behind their ear. This is really cool stuff. Almost like Splinter Cell but you have the option to run and gun if you want.

Tip: If you shoot WHILE you're cloaked, it takes away all your nano-suits power, but if you quickly de-cloak, shoot, and then re-cloak, you don't lose any power at all.
