I beat it last night. The main boss was much easier than from Mass Effect 1.

I lost Kelly  so, I will have to play through again with my Paragon character from ME1

Anybody else like Jacob a lot better than Caiden? Caiden was a whiny *****. Jacob's actually even cooler than Lando Calrissian, the other black guy in the universe*. LOL (j/k, Captain Anderson is too, LOL).

*This is not racist, but a long standing Star Wars joke......

For the final mission.
To save everyone you have to go immediately after the crew is captured. Make sure you have done all of the loyalty missions first. Use Legion for the vent and Garrus or Miranda for the fire team. Let Mordin escort the crew back because he has a high chance of dying defending the door. It seems to be random. Use Jack or Samara as the biotic and Garrus or Miranda as the diversion team leader. Everyone should live this way.

I liked the companions a lot more than the ones in the first game except for Garrus he is awesome. Jacob was pretty cool, but I didn't trust Miranda until I did her loyalty mission. I knew she was on my side then. I usually rotated my companions, but I used Garrus the most.

Legion just dies when he goes up into the vent. He does fine then like always he gets shot in the head when he tries to close the door :(

Was epic when Morodin said "I held the line" when he dies though :D

Did you do his loyalty mission? Also make sure you open the vents quickly. Supposedly they get tired if you take a lot of time to open the vents because they overheat.

I didn't do them amazingly quick, that could have been the problem. Also yes I did his loyalty mission

Anyone know where the prision ship is???? Btw...I'm drowning in this game right now...I can't even play Eve online.

As did I. I used Miranda and Garrus mostly (as a Vanguard myself). I liked Miranda quite a bit more after her loyalty mission. Garrus had some pretty awesome quips.

Jacob > Caiden without a doubt. I even liked Grunt (wrex lite) because I thought he would be a stupid character after seeing his teaser videos.

You should have it show up on the overall Galaxy/Universe map or should be in the journal.

I hear you with that on EVE. I forced myself to play last night just to let people know I didn't run off again.

The only somewhat annoying part of this game seems to be trying to mine the minerals for the higher end upgrades. Needs way too much platinum. Mining for hours gets grindy.

And I really hope that it's actually challenging on Hardcore or Insane. Veteran seems way too easy. Been doing everything the Paragon route; I'd ask if there's any kind of unique reward for being a renegade instead, but don't want to spoil it yet.

^ Fully agree with you.

Admitidly I never spent more than about an hour mining throughout the whole game but it was still very annoying.

I did it on Veteran the first time. Insane was nearly impossible on the first one, ME2 seemed harder on Veteran so insane might be physically impossible for me :D

Well, in part one the landing vehicle missions were worse but I agree, the mining does nothing but slow the game down. You can however find side missions when mining by picking up a transmission signal. I charted 100% of the systems and planets thinking I'd get an achievement for it, no dice.

Ive been mining quiet a bit. I only do its when I got some time to kill, but the thing with me if I start in a system I want to finish the whole system. + Side is I find those extra missions, but you could do that even without probing the whole plannet. Though it is annoying, wish the scanner would move faster on the planet would definatly cut time down on it and make it more, manageable. As well there should be an achievement for depeting every planet out there.

Veteran defintaly seems harder the ME1. Im looking forward to doing Insane :)

I liked scanning the planets better than landing on them and finding the minerals that way. It doesn't take as long with the upgraded scanner. I actually found it almost addicting scanning the planets to get all of the upgrades.

I think this game is actually easier than the first one. I played on veteran and I only had trouble at the beginning when I was recruiting Mordin. Being able to aim helps a lot, but both games are fairly easy. I'm playing on hardcore right now, and it's not to difficult either but I'm still in the early game.

The final boss is definately easier than ME1 was. I think the combat against normal enemies is harder in ME2. The chances of screwing up your loyalty by failing the individuals personal missions is waaaaaaay harder in ME2. You think you're playing your cards right and then ---FAIL. No replay, no way to make it up, what's done is done.

Yeah, I was planning on scanning every planet as well, But I looked through the achievements ( either from the main menu, Or the small terminal on your desk in the captains room ), and saw there was no achievement for exploring 100% of the galaxy. So I said screw it, and went on with the Omega 4 mission.

Considering I beat it first try, I'd be inclined to agree.

And because I love this emoticon...

:blah:

Not aimed at anybody, it just makes me lol. :D

I didn't even know you could fail the loyalty missions. What did you do?

Combat isn't harder in this game, it's just slower because you have to stay behind cover a lot more. In the first game without universal cooldowns you could run and spam your attacks, but you need to be more cautious and thoughtful in this game.

A mission I failed over and over was Samara's. Took 5 retries to get it right.

I think you might be able to fail Zaeed's if you chose to save all the people instead of killing Vido. I haven't tried the Paragon option (saving the people).

That's a matter of perspective. You could fail to gain his loyalty, but you would be saving all of those people. I haven't done the paragon choice either yet so I don't know.
