Im anxious for the release date on the 29th. Do you think its a good idea to check right after mid night to make sure i get one? Or do they release the cards later on in the day usually?
These benchmarks sold me. Look at it beating the 8800gtx. LAWL!!

Yea. It doesn't make sense for them to put out a card that is 1/3 the price of the GTX that is better than the GTX. Maybe everything will fall in price and I can step up to an Ultra.
Vrzone-Niceone said:Don't worry..these scores are bogus since 8800 GT has only 16 TMU and 16 ROP units (compare to GTS's 24 TMU 20 ROP units..and GTX's 32xTMU 24 ROP)
I don't understand it Nvidia is replacing 8800 GTS 320MB with 8800 GT 512MB..slower card!

So im in the market for a new DX10 video card. Im still running an old 6600 and it works fine for current stuff but the UT3 demo doesnt work and Crysis is gonna require something better.
I have a hard time ponying up for a 8800GTX at $550 and i am considering a 8800GTS 640 at $319. I have a 20" LCD so I run 1280x1024 res or 1600x1280 if i could.
Should i wait for the 8800GT?
I would like to play the UT3 Demo but i can wait for the release.
$300-350 for a video card is really the price break for me.
What else do you have in your system? If you have a 6600 then it is AGP and the new cards are PCI-E. Are you planning on upgrading your entire system? The 8800 GTX 320 or 640 are both good buys.

The benchmark at 1280x1024 i think is the max that the free version of the benchmark software will do. To do higher res ones you have to buy it. <shrug>
