EKWB has launched the EK-Quantum Momentum² monoblock for ASUS’ ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming  ITX motherboard. The cooling plate is constructed of nickel-plated electrolytic copper, while the top is clear acrylic. Designed to cool both the CPU and motherboard’s Voltage Regulation Modules (VRMs), the new EK-Quantum Momentum² maximizes cooling while maintaining a clean look. The Digitally addressable RGB (D-RGB) lighting features 18 LEDs and is fully compatible with ASUS Aura Sync software. Pricing is listed at $209.99 and it’s available for pre-order now at the EKWB webshop.

EK Rolls Out a Momentum² Monoblock for ROG STRIX X670E-I ITX Motherboard

EK®, the premium PC liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is launching the EK-Quantum Momentum² Strix X670E-I Gaming D-RGB – Plexi, the latest AMD® AM5 socket-based monoblock. It is engineered specifically for the ASUS® ROG STRIX X670E-I GAMING motherboard and features the latest EK Velocity² cooling engine for top-level CPU cooling. This Quantum line monoblock has addressable D-RGB LED compatible with ASUS Aura Sync RGB control, offering complete lighting customization for every diode at any time. It is also EK-Matrix7 compatible and doesn’t require removing the factory-mounted heatsink before installation.

EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming D-RGB – Plexi

This is a complete, all-in-one (CPU + motherboard) liquid cooling solution for AMD Ryzen 7000-series processors, compatible with AM5 socket ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming ITX motherboard. It directly cools the AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU and the heatsink of the power regulation (MOSFET) module. The product doesn’t replace the stock heatsink but complements it instead.

The monoblock connects with the preinstalled heatsink via thermal pads and cools the heatsink instead of directly cooling the VRM.

The main issue with mini-ITX boards’ VRM is usually the lack of space to fit a larger heatsink. Even with a high-quality VRM, small heatsinks have limited surfaces for thermal dissipation. During EK’s testing phase, this monoblock lowered the temperature of the VRM by more than 20°C on an open test bench. Inside a case, and especially in a small form factor (SFF) case where other components raise the ambient temperature, users can expect even more significant improvements in thermals when using this Momentum² monoblock.

The new monoblock uses the latest generation EK Velocity² cooling engine to ensure the best possible CPU cooling without reducing the flow to other components. This water block directly cools the Ryzen AM5 CPU, with the coolant passing over the sections of the monoblock that connect with the factory-mounted heatsink, dissipating heat away. Liquid flows directly over all critical areas, providing enthusiasts with an excellent cooling solution for high and stable overclocks.

Like all other EK monoblocks, the EK-Quantum Momentum² ROG Strix X670E-I Gaming features a high-flow design and can be easily used in systems with weaker water pumps or those that operate at lower pump speed settings. This latest Quantum Momentum² monoblock also comes with sophisticated D-RGB (addressable) lighting with a total of 18 LEDs that connect to the ROG Strix motherboard’s standard 3-pin 5V D-RGB addressable Aura Gen2 header. The arrow marking on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector should be aligned with the +5V marking on the AURA Addressable Gen2 header. This monoblock is compatible with ASUS Aura Sync RGB control software.

The monoblock’s base is made of nickel-plated electrolytic copper, while the top part is made of quality cast acrylic material. The nickel-plated brass screw-in standoffs are pre-installed and allow for easy installation.

You can always check the EK Cooling Configurator database for compatible water blocks. New graphics cards and motherboards are added to the list daily.

Gotta say thats a pretty good looking block. Im not a huge fan of RGB lighting or acrylic tops but this gives it a very high tech intentional look.

The only real difference between a standard Quantum Velocity series and this block is that it's slightly wider, so it touches the VRM heatsink. It's not even a monoblock that covers everything. VRMs are not really hot on these motherboards. The "standard" Quantum Velocity costs ~$130, so the question is why the dedicated version costs ~$210?
The block still looks nice. Personally, I like acetal blocks. Here is Quantum Velocity - acetal, on ASUS Strix B650E-I Gaming.

These mini fittings are great but expensive. Flow restrictions are about the same as for standard 90°. As long as the pump can handle it, then all is fine. I'm using Alphacool DC-LT pump, which is whole 100l/h, and it works with 2 blocks and 240 rad (4 of these mini 90° fittings). But it's a small PC. You don't really use it in large builds.
Btw, this PC has been running 24/7 for 2 months+ now.

My concern was that the fitting has a lower Z-height compared to other 90s... but that's just my mind playing tricks on me? optical illusion?

EK - https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-torque-micro-rotary-90-black

compare it to the regular one - https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-torque-angled-90-nickel
The water channel inside is about the same. There are photos in EK store.

VRMs are not really hot on these motherboards.

This is true , the VRM monoblock was nice for the x299 platform because they were overheating on most motherboards especially early on.
But these X670E boards are pretty much over built some testing was done and these VRM's dont even overheat with the heatsink off even when the cpu is Overclocked.
