Leme tell you a little story about ultracoin!

I have a 7770 with a mild OC, there probably isn't any point, but would it be worthwhile to mine this (or any other) type of coin, or should I upgrade in order to try and do that. Also can this coin be CPU-mined or is that also a complete waste? Sorry about the n00b questions, I know enough to be dangerous about mining in the first place.

According to this post/database: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=741513

Your 7770 should do around 200 Kh/s, though given that a 5770 does better than the 7770, I think the 7770 in that list might be having other issues. The auto-trading pools do about .01 BTC per day per 1 Mh/s.

This thread: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=743399 shows which are the best coins to mine. It looks like Ultracoin isn't doing better than the auto-trading pools anymore.

200 Kh/s should get you .002 BTC per day. So, at current rates, just over $1 USD a day.

$1/day and then my electric costs $.06 KWh and I pull just under 400W at maximum load according to the kill-a-watt...

So I'd make about 40 cents per day.

nfactor change again? hashrate dropped down by half again on my cards.

Well, got my UTC outta crypto-trade, but my BTC is stuck there, its below the 0.01 min :(

UTC still worth mining? I'm on wafflepool right now. Wondering if I should switch.

EDIT: what? Now I'm getting tons of HW errors on the same settings??

I currently have my hash rate split between the two. UTC is currently at a point where you don't want to sell. As miners get their UTC off of CT, the price will drop down heavily on the other exchanges and then rebound in time. I recommend holding your UTC until after the recovery after the dip occurs.

EDIT: Case and Point: https://www.mintpal.com/market/UTC/BTC

I'm currently still split between UTC and vert. UTC dropping a lot in value. Dark looks to have risen a bit.

This is ridiculous.

HW errors everywhere, even using --lookup-gap 4. If tuning my 6850 is this bad, I can only imagine what the 270x tuning is like.

I'm done with UTC for now. Until someone makes a guide on re-tuning mining settings.

People have posted working 270x settings in the btctalk thread. I have my 7950 running at 110 and 290 at 150

Thanks! I'll have to look around then.

Still gotta figure out what to do with the 6850 :-/

EDIT: Okay, the 270x is up to 80Kh, but the 6850 is dead in the water. Not even lookup gap 4 can help it. Looks like UTC on the 270x and waffle (maybe VTC?) on the 6850.

What are you using? I'm using ultracoinminer on 3 270x's and getting this:

270x%27s-M.jpg

Whoops forgot batch

ultracoinminer -o stratum+tcp://poolinfo -u xxx - p xxx --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 8192 -g 1

if I add -I and anything then the display driver crashes and then the other two run at 91+ Kh/s

cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane -o stratum+tcp://ultra.leetpools.com:3333 -u Silver_Pharaoh.001 -p x -o stratum+tcp://ultra.leetpools.net:3333 -u Silver_Pharaoh.001 -p x --failover-only --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -d 1 --lookup-gap 3 --thread-concurrency 16000 -I 16 -g 2 -w 256 --gpu-vddc 1.2

My clocks *were* something like 1150 or 1120 core 1500 mem, I can't run my full overclock of 1220 core on UTC anymore..

But that got me 80 Kh.

I basically added --lookup-gap 3 to my old bat file.

ultracoinminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum-utc.coinpl.com:3333 -u xxx -p xxx --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 16 -g 1

Ah HA! It was the intensity, -I 16 is the sweet spot, I tried 19,18 and 17 they all crashed, but poof 16 works great thanks!

Is now getting me the following:

270x%27s_1-M.jpg

Glad you got it working.

I'm thoroughly done with UTC. Even using our settings with stock clocks produces HW errors within seconds.

If I want UTC I will buy it. (like I have already done)

Might mine PTS since I'd like to hold at least 10 PTS just in case.

I started doing UTC just to see how it would compare, I think I'm going to stick with PTS on the rest of my boxes. Probably switch this one back over too.

On lower intensity I get less hardware errors. Still it is annoying.

Yeah, but I just found this little gem: -w 256 --thread-concurrency 24576 -I 15

Using that, no HW errors so far and I get 95Kh with my max overclock.....

Might mine UTC becasue I know the price will recover.

But I'd still like to mine PTS....

EDIT: No. Fu*k this. Now I get HW errors. I'm boycotting this coin. I'm sick and tired of restarting when cgminer locks my cards up. I'm done.

I will post a config here follow these for better hashes.

Add some good configs in the comments, and I'll edit the post accordingly!

i get 180kh/s off the 7970/290x config @ now 1200/1850 "core/mem"

and 195Kh/s with the 290/x config. @ 1075/1400 "core/mem"
